South Africa's Cape Town is also hosting a street art festival with which The Crystal Ship has set up an exchange. In 2023, Elléna Lourens took the honours for South Africa - a young artist whose startling, emotive work breaks with the busy, colourful street art tradition. Lourens creates very poetic murals with as few lines and colours as possible, making her an undeniable breath of fresh air in the street art landscape.
