The mural by Zenith (Matthias Schoenaerts) & Koen van den Broek is called 'Round 4'. The wall takes its starting point from the statement, "Round 3 doesn’t matter anymore in Round 4", a phrase from a boxing match that deeply touched Matthias: a fighter who returns in round four and declares that what happened before no longer matters. For Matthias, this phrase became an inner compass; for Koen, a prompt to work with line, colour, and reduction. The boxing ring, the colour red, the industrial style, and the sleek frame become metaphors for artistry, for trial and error.
Round 4 is about resilience, about perseverance, about getting up when you've almost fallen. Minimalism renders the work vulnerable: every line carries meaning. At the same time, it leaves room for interpretation, for doubt, for the viewer's impression.
