Strook works with reclaimed wood. Each piece carries traces of a previous life. For this portrait, the Bruges-based artist used only wood from Ostend, including from the Mercator and the Assanat. The face looks quietly towards the sea from the tourist office. As if it has been watching the same horizon for years.
