Mieke Drossaert strongly (and not unfairly) believes that there is a need for imagery that does not fit into the constant stream of images. And so, in her paintings, glass works, carpets and murals, she depicts people whose faces seem to be absent. Striking, fascinating and, above all, very distinctive. For TCS 2026, she drew inspiration from Dikke Mathilde (a famous statue in Ostend). She depicted the icon on ten facades.
