Judith de Leeuw, better known as JDL, is an Amsterdam-based street artist who has worked her way up - almost literally - from the streets. As a teenager she ended up in a juvenile centre, but today she is one of the best-known names in the world of street art. Her work often revolves around social inequality. Last year, for instance, she created the impressive mural Behind the Rainbow in Amsterdam - an artwork of no less than 13.5 metres high, showing two men kissing each other. It touched the hearts of many and went viral all over the world.
